Things to do during pregnancy


Motherhood is a lovely experience. What to eat during pregnancy ? How much to exercise when you are pregnanct ? Well, Healthy diet and adequate exercise are very important. The tips given below will be a good start.

What should you eat or consume during Pregnancy -

1. You Should Eat Plenty of Proteins in your diet. Adequate protein is essential for the development of the baby (especially the brain). You can get your proteins from variety of lentils, tofu, eggs, chicken etc.

Cool Tip : Kidney Beans is a super food during pregnancy. Kidney beans are packed with protein, fiber, antioxidants, and iron. During pregnancy, your blood volume expands, so you need more iron to make more hemoglobin. Also, studies have shown that iron is absolutely essential for your baby's cognitive development. Make a kidney bean soup once in a while or toss then into a salad.

2. You Should Eat Well. Eating 4 to 5 times in a day is always recommended. Your diet needs to include plenty of vitamins, minerals, fiber. Make sure you are adding fats, proteins, fiber to your daily diet.Food of choice during pregnancy

3. You should eat lots of green leafy vegetables in your diet. Green vegetables provide good source of vitamins and calcium to you and your growing baby.

Cool Tip : Sesame Seeds. Tiny sesame seeds have full of calcium, which your baby needs for bone development. So go ahead.. Sprinkle them over a stir-fry, add to yogurt, or use tahini (sesame seed paste) in your cooking.

4. You should consume adequate amount of fruits which gives you fiber and help in reducing the constipation. For e.g. - eat more apples, oranges, pears etc.

5. You should drink plenty of fluids, water. Water will help you stay hydrated and your body needs more water. Drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water every day.

Cool Tip : Plain Yogurt. Did you know a small container of yogurt can provide you with 25 percent of your daily calcium requirement, protein, and several other necessary vitamins and minerals. Important : Avoid fruit-flavored yogurts loaded with sugar

6. You should drink at least 2 cups of milk everyday to give yourself enough calcium. Calcium is very useful for building your baby's bones. There are several calcium tablets available in the market. Tums (antacids) provide good calcium. Consult your doctor before taking.

7. You should drink fresh coconut water (if available in the market easily) while pregnant. Coconut water is mineral water, very healthy and gives your baby the needed vitamins. Coconut water is very helpful and healthy for pregnant women & their babies.

What exercise you should do while pregnant –

1. You Should Do Kegal Exercises. Kegal exercise always helps you in your smooth delivery. It will help give strength to your vaginal muscles. Very helpful while delivering the baby..

4. If there is flu season definitely go get your flu shot or swine flu shot.

5. Both you and your baby need plenty of vitamins during pregnancy. You Should start your Prenatal Vitamins regularly.
