Energy Drinks Could Trigger Irregular Heartbeats and High Blood Pressure

Energy drinks increases the blood pressure and could cause irregularity in heartbeats, warns a recent research. Professor Sachin Shah from the University of the Pacific in California and his team analyzed seven previous researches to determine the effect of energy drinks on the cardiac health. Analysts found that a segment of heart rhythm, QT interval, was prolonged by 10 milliseconds in people who had just consumed one to three cans of energy drinks. ...

Antibiotic Z-Pak Causes Irregular Heartbeats Warns FDA

FDA has recently issued a warning against the antibiotic, Azithromycin, which is commonly used to treat various infections of eye, ear and throat. Azithromycin, well known as Zithromax or Z- Pak is manufactured by Pfizer and is available as tablets or liquid. FDA in its statement notes that Zithromax may disturb the electrical activity of heart and cause irregular heartbeats. Symptoms and Care of Irregular Heartbeats Differ by Gender: Analysis

According to an analysis of patients in a large national registry compiled by the Duke Clinical Research Institute, women with atrial fibrilation have more symptoms and lower quality of life than men with the same heart condition.
