How to get rid of pimples?

A good question with many answers. There are really three answers that directly resolve it, though. The first answer is to pop it, not the safest way to treat acne. The second answer is with an acne prevention plan, this helps keep pimples from coming back. And the third is with a treatment plan, this involves either medication or OTC acne creams.

Before diving into these answers, we must first understand what causes pimples. During our teenage years, the explosion of hormones in our bodies produces extra oils in the pores of our skin. The main oil is called sebum, when a follicle creates too much it builds up under the skin and creates pimples. The sebum is mixed with other oils and bacteria to cause this painful acne. When the tip of the follicle is open, the sebum mixes with dead skin cells and dirt to create blackheads.

When using an acne medication be sure to give it plenty of time to work. If you buy a bottle of face wash, use the entire bottle before determining whether or not the product is going to work for you. The active ingredients take time to work and if you don't give it that time you'll never see the results you want.UPDATE 4/14/2010!

I've added a bunch of the most popular pimple treatments to this Hub. After spending the last nine months tracking which ones are working the best for people, I've decided to show them to you with the option to buy them at a great price from Amazon. Scroll down to see!How To Get Rid Of Pimples By Popping Them

You can get rid of pimples that are already on your face by popping them. You must consider the consequences of doing this, though. Pushing on your skin to get the sebum out of the pimple can damage the tissue beneath the skin's surface. Also, the open wound on your face is very susceptible to infection if sanitation procedures are not followed.

When popping a pimple do your best to push at it sideways, rather than down. This helps the tissue below the surface from getting beaten up. If the pimple will not pop, sterilize a sewing needle with alcohol and puncture only the tip of the whitehead. As soon as it has popped, use a cotton ball or cotton towel with alcohol on it to clean it up. This will hurt a bit, but it will help prevent infection.

Who would have thought that learning how to get rid of pimples would be so painful?OXY Spot Treatment

The OXY Spot Treatment has been around for a really long time, and there is a reason for that! Put simply, it works really well.

OXY got their name for the medicated pads that they made a while back, and they have continued to create great products.

This is a benzoyl peroxide product that works to get rid of pimples very effectively. In order for it to work, your face has to be clean beforehand. It says that you should apply it 1-3 times a day, but once a day will usually get rid of pimples quickly.

Be sure that if you've never used something like this before, you start slow with the application. Jumping right in and using it 2 or 3 times a day will dry your skin out pretty bad. Start with once a day, or every other day, so that your skin will adjust.Heal Acne Solution

This is a pimple treatment that you probably haven't heard of. It's from a company called Healing Natural Oils, and rather than attacking the bacteria that leads to pimples like most treatments do, this one neutralizes them. This prevents scarring and leads to an overall gentler experience.

Don't read "gentler experience" as it won't work! These guys are so sure that their oils work, you get a 60 day money back guarantee with their products.

The directions on using this pimple treatment are a bit strange, but that is why it works so well. You use a cotton swab to spread a little bit onto your affected area (breakout) and then dab a small amount on the bottom of your feet. I know that's bizarre, but it helps to get rid of your pimples from the inside since it can be absorbed into your system through your feet. It's strange, but it's hard to argue with results!

Also, their oils are completely natural and organic, no harsh chemicals.Zeno Acne Clearing Device

I'm sure that you seen the commercials and infomercials for Zeno over the past few years and have wondered if it actually works. Reports are in, and it turns out that it actually does!

The Zeno isn't for everyone. It's more expensive than other acne treatments, and since it needs replacement cartridges (it comes with a 60 count cartridge) it is really expensive if you suffer from lots of pimples. If you have mild or moderate pimples, this is the perfect weapon to zap them away because the cartridge will last months.

Most times, you only have to zap your pimples with the Zeno once to get rid of them. This is especially true when you can catch it in the early stages. For larger and more developed pimples, it will take 2 or 3 zaps.

If you suffer from mild to moderate pimples and are looking for a way to blast them off your face in a few hours, this is the tool for you. If you have more severe acne, you are probably better off with a cream or face wash. How To Get Rid Of Pimples With Prevention

Preventing acne is the best way to get rid of pimples for good. The best method for preventing pimples is to eat a health, vegetable based diet (not necessarily vegan) and drink more water than you think you need. Avoid junk food and eat at least twice as many veggies as you do meat and bread. This helps keep the toxins and nastiness from processed food build up in your body.

Drinking tons of water will flush toxins out of your body. Without flushing these out they will build up and show up in the bacteria of your pimples. Drink at least a half gallon of water a day.

Learning how to get rid of pimples will also improve other areas of your life, not just your skin. After you learn how to get rid of pimples, your overall health will improve through your diet and improved awareness of what goes on inside your body.Clean & Clear Spot Acne Treatment

This is a pretty cool product. It works like a lot of the other spot pimple treatments, but it's especially helpful for those that keep getting zits in the same spots.

Regular spot treatments work to reduce the pimple that is already there, but this one provides longer lasting treatment that works to keep the next one from popping up. I always get pimples on the side of my forehead, and this works great to reduce them when they pop up and they don't come back for at least a week.

The active ingredient in this pimple treatment is salicylic acid, which can be harsher than other treatments. When you get this, be sure to go light at first to prevent major drying out.

If you're suffering from zits in the same places over and over, this spot treatment is a great way to get rid of those pimples! How To Get Rid Of Pimples With Medication

If the methods above on how to get rid of pimples are not enough to clear your skin, medication may be the route to take.

A mixture of medication and prevention will have the best odds of getting rid of pimples for good. There are hundreds of different acne medications on the market.

The most popular (and seemingly effective) now are multi-stage acne products such as ProActive and AcneFree. These work by treating your skin with some mild chemicals and cleansers over the course of a few weeks. Many people have seen their acne vanish when following the programs outlined by these companies.

Be sure to read all directions and warnings on any and all acne treatments. Using multiple treatment at the same time will severely dry your skin out and create more problems than you started with.

Once you learn how to get rid of pimples with all of the techniques above, your skin will clear up for the rest of your life.
