Easy way to cure pimples

Trying to find a way to get rid of pimples is a very common undertaking for many people around the globe. Pimples are a very familiar skin problem seen mostly in adolescents or may occasionally even appear in people of more mature age. It is a very natural phenomenon and mainly occurs due to excessive oil secretion from the sebaceous gland clogging the mouth of the hair follicles. A pimple may disappear on its own but that may take some time. And an untreated pimple may leave an ugly scar behind.

During puberty, the oil from the overactive sebaceous gland when it comes in contact with dirt, grime, dead cells or bacteria forms into small pustules known as pimples. So it becomes very essential to keep the skin absolutely clean all the time. Use of specially formulated medicated soap may help to get rid of pimples but may also have a drying effect on the skin.

Washing the face with a good face wash using lukewarm water at least twice a day may help to reduce pimples. It is also very important not to touch the pimples with dirty hands as that will cause the bacteria to flourish. Keep from touching the skin but if it is at all necessary, it is wise to wash the hands thoroughly with medicated soap and then touch.

There are many tried and tested home remedies to get rid of pimples. These natural treatments have absolutely no, or very mild, side effects. Lemon juice when diluted with rose water or plain water and applied on pimples is known to work wonders. Lemon dries the pimples and leaves no ugly scars. Tea tree oil has been used for ages as a helpful remedy for pimples. It is a very powerful antibacterial and kills the harmful bacteria and reduces pimples. Fresh extract of mint, basil or margosa are also helpful in reducing the oil and controlling acne. But these natural remedies are effective only when applied regularly and require a bit of patience.

Many find it irresistible to pop a pus-filled pimple and clear it out. Sometimes it helps but if the whole process goes wrong, it may leave hideous scars which may turn permanent. If one does feel the urgency to pop a pimple, it is advised to use a sterilized needle and not fingernails as that may aggravate the problem.

There are many over the counter medicines available in the market which more or less contain the same ingredients like sulphur, resorcinol, benzoyl peroxide, and salicylic acid. They are available as creams and gels and help in controlling acne. A good dermatologist may prescribe the best kind of ointment required for a particular skin type.
