Acne is a common skin disorder

Acne is a common skin disorder of the sebaceous glands which leads to plugged pores and outbreaks of nodules called pimples. They may appear anywhere on the face, neck, chest, shoulders, upper arms and even on the back as well as on the buttocks. As this chronic skin problem may occur to anyone regardless of age, acne usually affects teens during the stages of puberty, as well as adults in their mid-twenties and late forties. Though it may not be regarded as a very serious major skin disorder, it still requires immediate attention along with proper care and medication as it can be very upsetting especially if they appear visibly on the face or in some areas where it can be very disturbing. If left untreated, it may later lead to a more damaging skin disorder and may cause serious scarring on the skin.

To treat blackheads, pimples and acne using natural ways, try following any of these easy and simple homemade remedies below:Garlic, a known effective cure for pimple and acne problems can be used both internally and externally as a natural medication. Internally, you can eat three seeds of raw garlic everyday for one month. Garlic contains allicin – a natural antibiotic agent that helps purify and cleanse the bloodstream thus keeping acne away and prevents it from spreading. To clear the skin of spots, pimples, whiteheads and blackheads, simply rub a peeled garlic on the affected areas a few times a day. You can also try applying a mixture of 1/2 teaspoon garlic juice to a tablespoon of yogurt on your face once or twice a day leaving it for a few minutes before finally rinsing off with warm or cold water. The yogurt applied on the skin along with the garlic will naturally moisturize the skin without making it oily.Cucumbers are among the very popular natural skin care remedies. Sliced fresh cucumbers are commonly applied over the eyes or anywhere on the face. You can also grate cucumbers and spread it all over your face, including the neck leaving it for about half an hour before rinsing. Applying this daily will help prevent pimples and blackheads from re-appearing. You can also make fresh cucumbers as a natural tonic for your face by putting them on a blender. Once you get a thin consistency, you can use it as a natural toner or facial wash. This can safely be applied for all skin types.Orange peels can help cleanse the affected areas of skin as it is naturally mildly acidic. Pounded orange peels sprinkled with a few drops of water to make it moist can be applied on the affected areas of your skin. This helps to cleanse the affected skin areas of excess sebum. Another way of treating acne with orange peels is to grind them lightly untill it becomes coarse powder and mix it well with a little amount of gram flour and carrot juice. As soon as its consistency becomes sticky and paste-like, immediately apply the mixture on the affected areas and leave it there for 5-10 minutes before rinsing. If the acne affected area appears to be anywhere on the face, you can also use the mixture to massage your face first before finally leaving it for a few minutes and finally rinsing it off with lukewarm water.

Lemons are vitamin C rich fruits that are naturally acidic and can be used as very effective homemade treatment for acne. The citric acid in lemon juice helps fight bacteria much like alcohol which are usually used in making astringents, but its more natural and doesn’t damage the skin. By diluting a few tablespoons of lemon juice with equal amounts of fresh mint leaves juice and applying it to acne affected areas, it will help reduce inflammation. This can also be used to treat pimples and blackheads and can even be used as a home remedy for people who have very sensitive types of skin.Apricots can be very helpful for invigorating the skin and for removing spots and blackheads. Moreso, these nutrients when taken substantially may even prevent skin problems from re-occuring.

Foods that are rich sources of niacin include kale, spinach, broccoli, asparagus, and mushrooms while some good sources of vitamin A rich foods include celery, carrots, cantaloupe, sweet potatoes, and liver.
